Hercules Chemicals Australia (HCA) manufactures and markets products and services to the Paper, Rubber, Wool and Textile Industries.

We market functional and process chemicals under license to Hercules Incorporated USA which is the worldwide leading supplier of HPPD paper chemical agents and technology to the paper industry. We also have in our portfolio coating binder products which are our own technology developed by the Nuplex technical team.

Paper is one of the oldest products manufactured by mankind. Up until the invention of the wireless, mass communication during many past centuries was only made possible by the development of large scale production of paper and printing technology. To produce paper, it is necessary to add chemical agents to give individual characteristics into the final products.

Functional Chemical agents are used to impart water resistance to packaging, print properties to carbon board, copy paper and new sprint paper; strength and softness to tissue & paper towels.

Process Chemicals are added to improve rate of production and quality of the paper’s manufacturing process. Such products include defoamers, biocides, retention aids, and deposit control, among others. Coating Binders are a major contributor to high quality printing to food packaging cartons.
